Elements of Procedure

Brief: "a roleplaying game inspired by the show Sapphire & Steel"

Deliverables and scope: full layout of a 52-pages zine for risograph printing and digital distribution, and the creation of four different backgrounds to be used in the zine as well as a character sheet

Results: a limited run was risoprinted in six different colourways to represent the six characters presented in the game

This project was a challenge from the start. Having never designed anything for risograph printing, I had to first learn how it worked and then adapt my workflow to this technique. Regular and efficient communication with the printer was key in achieving the client’s vision for the project: their expertise combined with my adaptability were the perfect recipe for a smooth workflow. The client’s vision also meant that the printing stage required 6 different versions of each file sent to the printer. This required a lot of meticulous pre-print verifications, which I executed without any hurdles thanks to regular check-ins with the client and the printer.
